Moderation & Community Guidelines
WAVEE – COMMUNITY GUIDELINES & MODERATION POLICY
Effective Date: 1 March 2025
This Community Guidelines & Moderation Policy (“Guidelines”) describes the standards of behaviour expected from all users of the Wavee platform and how moderation and enforcement is carried out.
These Guidelines apply to all users of:
- The Wavee Resident App
- The Wavee Concierge & Building Portal
- The Wavee Business Portal
- The Wavee Pets App
- All associated forums, chats, listings, reviews, media uploads, comments and messaging tools
(together, the “Platform”)
These Guidelines must be read together with the:
- Terms of Service
- Acceptable Use Policy
- Business Portal Agreement
- Privacy Policy
- Data Retention Policy
- End User Licence Agreement (EULA)
By using the Platform, you agree to comply with these Guidelines.
1. Community Purpose & Values
Wavee exists to create a safe, respectful, practical and local community connecting:
- Residents
- Concierge teams
- Building managers
- Local businesses
- Pet owners and service providers
We expect all users to act with:
- Respect
- Fairness
- Honesty
- Responsibility
- Lawful conduct
Wavee does not tolerate behaviour that undermines safety, trust, inclusion, or lawful participation.
2. Scope of These Guidelines
These Guidelines apply to:
- Public posts and comments
- Private messages and chats
- Reviews and ratings
- Media uploads (images, video, documents)
- Business listings and advertising
- Concierge announcements
- Resident forums
- Pet community content
They apply equally to residents, businesses, concierge teams, building operators, and pet service providers.
3. Expected Conduct
All users must:
- Communicate respectfully and lawfully
- Provide accurate, truthful information
- Treat others without harassment, intimidation, or abuse
- Respect differences of opinion
- Protect the privacy of others
- Use the Platform only for its intended lawful purpose
- Follow all applicable UK and international laws
4. Strictly Prohibited Conduct
The following behaviour is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate enforcement action:
4.1 Harassment, Abuse & Hate
- Threats, intimidation, stalking, or persistent unwanted contact
- Hate speech targeting protected characteristics (race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, nationality)
- Slurs, degrading language, or coordinated harassment
4.2 Illegal, Dangerous & Violent Conduct
- Promotion of crime, violence, terrorism, or illegal activity
- Sale or promotion of illegal goods or services
- Encouraging self-harm or suicide
- Posting threats of violence
4.3 Exploitation & Sexual Harm
- Sexual exploitation of any kind
- Sexual content involving minors
- Grooming behaviour
- Non-consensual sexual images
4.4 Fraud, Deception & Impersonation
- Scams, phishing attempts, or deceptive schemes
- Impersonating other users, staff, businesses, buildings, or Wavee
- Fake business listings or credentials
- Fake reviews or manipulated ratings
4.5 Privacy & Data Protection Violations
- Publishing personal data without consent
- Sharing access codes, credentials, CCTV feeds, or ID documents
- Doxxing
- Encouraging misuse of personal data
4.6 Intellectual Property Violations
- Copyright infringement
- Uploading unauthorised music, films, images, or documents
- Trademark misuse
4.7 Platform Misuse & Technical Abuse
- Attempted hacking or security bypass
- Scraping, bot usage, or bulk automation
- Reverse-engineering the Platform
- Creating multiple accounts to evade enforcement
4.8 Harm to Animals (Wavee Pets)
- Animal cruelty
- Promotion of abusive training practices
- Illegal breeding
- Dangerous or unlicensed pet services
5. Business-Specific Conduct Rules
Businesses must not:
- Misrepresent products, prices, availability, or qualifications
- Post misleading promotions
- Harvest resident data for off-platform marketing
- Pressure residents regarding reviews or refunds
- Circumvent Wavee payments
- Engage in unfair or unsafe trading practices
All business activity is additionally governed by the Business Portal Agreement.
6. Concierge & Building-Specific Conduct
Concierge teams and building operators must not:
- Publicly disclose resident information
- Abuse notification tools
- Misuse internal building data
- Target residents through announcements
- Retain access after staff termination
Buildings remain solely responsible for staff governance.
7. Messaging, Reviews & Forums
Users must not:
- Spam repetitive messages
- Post irrelevant commercial content
- Engage in coordinated attacks
- Manipulate reviews
- Post defamatory content
Constructive criticism is permitted. Abuse is not.
8. Reporting Violations
Violations should be reported to:
Reports should include:
- User or business name
- Description of the issue
- Time and location of content
- Screenshots where available
Reports are treated confidentially.
9. Moderation & Enforcement Process
Wavee moderation may take the following actions:
- Content removal
- Comment restriction
- Temporary feature suspension
- Account suspension
- Permanent account termination
- Platform-wide banning
- Referral to law enforcement where legally required
Enforcement decisions are at Wavee’s sole discretion and based on:
- Severity
- Harm caused
- Pattern of behaviour
- Legal risk
10. Appeals Process
Users may appeal enforcement actions by contacting:
Appeals must include:
- Account email
- Content reference
- Reason for appeal
Appeals are reviewed by a separate moderation process. Reversal is not guaranteed.
11. Zero-Tolerance Areas
Wavee applies immediate enforcement with no warnings for:
- Child exploitation
- Terrorism-related content
- Serious threats of violence
- Large-scale fraud
- System hacking
- Coordinated criminal activity
Such matters may be reported directly to authorities.
12. Data Retention for Moderation
Moderation data, evidence, and logs are retained in accordance with the Data Retention Policy and applicable legal requirements.
13. Updates to These Guidelines
These Guidelines may be updated to reflect:
- Legal changes
- Platform feature updates
- Emerging safety risks
The “Last Updated” date reflects the current version.
